The Stelvin® concept responds to new consumption requirements: the capsule can conserve the qualities, bouquet and the fragrances of the wine thanks to perfect water tightness, controlled gas permeability and, above all, an absence of TCA.
Moreover, the practicality of the bottle is improved by easy opening and resealing; you can also transport and store your bottle in any position. Alcan Packaging Capsules can offer its customers, through the Stelvin® concept, an almost infinite number of decoration possibilities for better aesthetics.

Alcan Packaging created this closure and began to sell it in the 70's. The swiss market was the first to employ this concept to a great extent. In 2000, the US, Australia and New Zealand began to opt for it. 2002 is the year that boosts the product in France, Germany, Chile and Argentina. Our experience is also based on our technical skills on the product (design, choice of the liner.) as well as on the environment (advice on the choice of capping material.).

The Stelvin® closure is appropriate for all types of wine; red, white or rosé. The choice of the seal is that of the wine maker, depending on the development that he wishes to give to his wine. In our experience, our customers use the Saranex 38 for a better gas permeability, and use the Saran Tin Film for a lesser one.

Yes. The Stelvin® closure is tamper-evident, in that each consumer can see if the bridge line under the knurling has been broken.

Yes. Because there is no cork. And also because all materials used are perfectly neutral from the organoleptic point of view and preserve the flavours of your wine.

Yes. The skirt of the closure can be printed in up to 6 colours, thanks to the technologies that Alcan Packaging Capsules put at your disposal: we can either reproduce your design or we can suggest a design to meet your requirements.

Even though aluminium is an element present in the vast majority of food, here aluminium is not in direct contact with your wine. The liner is in contact, and is totally organoleptically neutral.

The Stelvin® closure requires a special glass finish, BVS, on which the thread starts at 2.8 mm. We invite you to contact one of our sales people to get information on glass producers who we are working with. More and more bottles are now available with the BVS glass finish.

The capping system is different from that of a traditional capsule. You need a forming head to mould the liner to the glass finish. We invite you to contact one of our sales people for more information on the producers of capping machines.

Yes. Upright, on its side or with the neck facing downwards, the bottle can be stored and transported in all positions.
